Rosanna Cappellato Award in Environmental Sciences
Established in memory of Professor Rosanna Cappellato—who was instrumental in building ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½â€™ Environmental Studies & Sciences Program—this award supports students who share her passion for conserving the natural world.
Eligibility:
- Sophomores or juniors majoring in a scientific discipline
- Demonstrated commitment to environmental and wildlife conservation
Award Criteria:
- Support for continued study, research, or experiences in environmental and wildlife conservation (including international opportunities)
- Record of outstanding academic and environmental work, both at ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ and beyond
Application Requirements:
- Two-page personal statement describing:
- How the award will support conservation-related work
- Past achievements in environmental conservation
- A budget for the ~$500 award
- CV or resume
- Letter of recommendation from a faculty member or professional
Deadline: March 15 annually

Sophomore Award in Environmental Studies & Sciences
This award recognizes a sophomore with strong dedication to environmental issues and encourages continued engagement.
Eligibility:
- Current sophomore majoring in Environmental Studies or Environmental Science
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (overall and in the major)
- Active or planned involvement in environmental research, outreach, or creative work
Application Requirements:
- One-page personal statement covering:
- Why you chose the major
- How you’ve engaged with environmental issues at ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½
- Future plans for continued engagement
- List of environmental courses with grades, overall GPA, and major GPA
- Letter of recommendation from a ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ faculty member

Senior Award in Environmental Studies & Sciences
This award honors a graduating senior who has shown exceptional engagement with environmental issues and is poised to carry that commitment forward.
Eligibility:
- Environmental Studies or Environmental Science major
- Minimum 3.0 GPA by end of fall semester senior year
- Demonstrated involvement in environmental research, outreach, or creative efforts
Application Requirements:
- Two-page personal statement addressing:
- Engagement with environmental issues at ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½
- Future goals and how ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ has prepared you
- Plans for the next 12 months (or pending applications)
- Resume or CV including:
- Name, major, GPA (overall and in major)
- Environmental activities and leadership
- Faculty recommender’s name
- Letter of recommendation from a ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ faculty member
